Methacrylate Photography 100x66cm – Isolated in the Andes

High-quality methacrylate photography from the “Aislados en los Andes” collection. These photographs are taken and interpreted by photographer Poncho Montesserin in Peru. This is a series of spontaneous portraits of people in their daily lives, playing with their image surrounded by a white background that reflects how isolated they live at more than 3000 meters above sea level, high in the Andes.

The photograph measures 100x66cm and is finished in methacrylate, the jewel in the crown in finishes, it is chosen by the majority of museums and art galleries for the exhibition of their works.

Methacrylate is a plastic substitute material for glass, it has 93% transparency, providing greater lucidity to the image as well as providing lightness and resistance.

In our case we will use a technique called DIASEC. Once the photographic copy has been made, the image is siliconed onto a 5mm wide methacrylate sheet and the back is glued to a 3mm dibond sheet.

This process involves more time and delicacy than any other process. Drying the silicone is essential to obtain a good final result and this can take several days. Once this process is finished, the edges are polished to obtain a perfect finish.

With this procedure we enhance colors, contrasts and details, providing a unique shine to the photograph. It is the perfect technique to protect the image without distorting it, preserving it from UV rays, scratches and other possible damages.

The presentation of the work is without frames and with a wooden frame that separates the work 2 cm from the wall.
