Virgin Sculpture – 08

Sculpture of the Virgin with child handcrafted in the mountains of Peru with a dough of rice, potato and chuño. It is inspired by colonial culture, where Catholic culture and ancestral Andean beliefs converge, highly inspired by nature. This confluence can be seen in some features such as the Butterfly shape of the Virgin Mary. The drawings of what the wings would be are even reminiscent of the peacock’s wings.

They are molded by hand, each piece is unique in its design and paint. This virgin is decorated with an iridescent olive green background and has details in pink, white, purple, light blue, yellow and red, with flowers of different types that represent spring and the birth of life.

This sculpture measures 26x17cm.
