Virgin Sculpture – 05

Sculpture of the Virgin with child handcrafted in the mountains of Peru with a dough of rice, potato and chuño. It is inspired by colonial culture, where Catholic culture and ancestral Andean beliefs converge, highly inspired by nature. This confluence can be seen in some features such as the baby Jesus who seems to emerge from a chrysalis, or in the triangular, mountain-like shape of the Virgin, which alludes to the “pachamama” or mother earth.

They are molded by hand, each piece is unique in its design and paint. This virgin is decorated with a blue background and details in pink, ecru, green, red and yellow, with typical Andean symbols and also with flowers that represent joy and spring.

This sculpture measures 25x25cm.
