Virgin Sculpture – 04

Sculpture of the Virgin made by hand in the mountains of Peru with a dough of rice, potatoes and chuño. It is inspired by colonial culture, where Catholic culture and ancestral Andean beliefs converge, highly inspired by nature. This confluence can be seen in some features such as the mountain shape of the Virgin’s body, narrow at the top and wide at the base, which alludes to the “pachamama” or mother earth.

She is the only Virgin in our collection that comes without a child. We love the sweetness of his gaze, with his head slightly tilted. Its crown stands out, larger than usual, as well as the intensity of its color.

It is molded by hand, each piece is unique in its design and paint. This virgin is decorated with a green and ivory background and details in red, ecru, yellow and blue, with typical Andean symbols and also with flowers that represent joy and spring.
