Framed Virgin Sculpture – 02

Sculpture of the Virgin with child made by hand in the mountains of Peru with a mass of rice, potatoes and chuño. It is inspired by the colonial culture, where the Catholic culture and the Andean ancestral beliefs converge, very inspired by nature. This confluence can be seen in some features such as babies, which in many cases resemble chrysalis, or in the triangular shape of the virgin (narrow at the top and wide at the base), which allude to the “pachamama” or Mother Earth.

They are molded by hand, each piece is unique in its design and painting. This virgin is decorated with a black background and details in magenta, orange, yellow and a raw point, with typical Andean symbols and also with flowers that represent joy and spring.

We have framed this sculpture in a box-style frame, 4cm deep, measuring 27x27cm. We have chosen as a background a handmade woven loom made of sheep wool dyed with natural pigments.
