Iron Spider Sculpture

Sculpture made in La Vega, Colombia, recycling the waste from a bike and motorcycle workshop. A very unique piece perfect for decorating by placing it on a book or shelf. I discovered the artists, Pedro and his son Santiago, this summer on my last trip to Colombia. His wife had a jewelry stall at the producers’ fair that is held every Sunday around the church and in one corner of the stall there were a couple of figures made from scrap metal that caught my attention. I wanted to meet the authors, the next day I met them in the trailer of their truck and commissioned the collection of insects that I present here.

The components of this spider sculpture are ball bearings, nuts, bike and motorcycle spokes, spheres and screws.
