Ethnic Pasillera Rug AD042 157x73cm

195,00

157x73cm ethnic rug made of sheep’s wool woven high in the Andes. It is a loom with very vibrant colours, with a background printed with geometric diamonds in shades of pink and red. The perimeter of this loom is worked with a simple, ecru-coloured border. Its width is narrower compared to other ethnic carpets. In fact, this is only one of the two looms that make up an ethnic carpet. It can be used as a runner, as a table runner, or to cover the seat of a sofa. This Cusquenian blanket is hand-woven in the South American Altiplano. It has been woven on a wooden loom that is tied at one end to a pole and at the other end to the weaver’s waist. An alpaca bone has been used to braid the wool to make the drawings. Being such a manual work can present small irregularities and “perfect” imperfections. The looms are made of 100% sheep’s wool dyed with natural pigments. Its color may vary and it is sensitive to direct light. We recommend dry cleaning the carpet.
