AD035 cusqueña blanket 156x155cm made of sheep wool woven high in the Andes.

This Cusquenian blanket is hand-woven in the South American Altiplano. It is woven on a wooden loom which is tied at one end to a pole and at the other end to the weaver’s waist. An alpaca bone is used to plait the wool when weaving the patterns. As it is such a manual work, it can present small irregularities and ‘perfect’ imperfections.

Ethnic looms are made of 100% sheep’s wool dyed with natural pigments. Its colour may vary and it is sensitive to direct light.
